Hi! I’ve been browsing the forum but I haven’t found a post that solves the dilemma I’m facing, so here I go:

I happen to have a Canon 550D, which poor thing is already giving up and I was thinking of switching to the Canon R6. The lenses I have would need an adapter until I can temporarily acquire those with the new mount. What’s wrong, I’ve had this doubt because I’ve always wanted to try Sony and switch to that brand, but I’m afraid of regretting it and then wanting to go back to Canon. I’ve been looking at various types of Sony bodies that are similar to the R6 and I found the A7 M3, and I’ve also looked at the A7 iii.

    Hey, how’s everything going?

Yes, the adapter option is there to use your Canon 550D lenses. But unless you have good lenses, and they are also full-frame, it’s not really worth using the adapter. It’s better to start fresh with RF lenses.

As for the Sony A7 III, it’s up to you. The operation is somewhat different between brands, but in the end, both models are very good. By the way, the A7 M3 and the A7 III are the same camera.
